Reflections for Senior Trooper Steven J. Vincent

It is a sad day in the law enforcement community, as I think about the loss of one of our family members. Senior Trooper Steven Vincent was mortally wounded while serving and protecting his community, giving the ultimate sacrifice, keeping his promise, remembering his oath. Though, I have never meet Senior Trooper Vincent or any of his immediate family, my prayers are with them. Thank you Sir, you gave it all.

Avenue of the Fallen

Standing at attention in their class “A“uniforms, badges gleaming and shoes like glass, are your brothers and sisters of Law Enforcement. All of whom have previously paid the ultimate price.
Today, like many others, they welcome you to this wonderful place.
As you march down the Avenue of the Fallen, all eyes focus on you as if to say “it’s OK, you’re with your eternal partners.”
A salute is followed and a tear can be seen on so many faces.
Welcome, you served well.
Now come join us in the ranks, another is coming home.

Oh such a tragedy, your life was taken
In such a senseless way
We do stand united, in these deep felt blues
That you aren't here today

We are very thankful, for the sacrifice you've made
And so we stand and say
It should have never happened, not to you in blue
We wish you could have stayed

The torch that you ran with, must now be passed on
With the high price you've paid
You're gone but not forgotten, in that color blue
Lord God he's yours today
