On behalf of my family, I extend our sincerest condolences on the grievous loss you suffered when Carl was killed.
To the Howell family, fellow officers, and all who call Carl beloved, my heart goes out to all of you and may you find comfort in your loved ones and your strength in your faith. When my son was killed, the entire law enforcement community in our area embraced us in a circle of love and support, and I know you will receive the same support. It makes the unbearable less torturous, and I pray for your solace. I hope that your family knows that a nation mourned for you.
This reflection is sent with the utmost respect for the dedicated service Deputy Howell gave to his community and the citizens of Nevada, and for the supreme sacrifice he and his family made on August 15, 2015.

Deputy Howell you are a hero that should never be forgotten for the life that was taken from you without any reason by a coward. I still remember the many contacts during calls for service and how many citizens don't understand law enforcement unless they have walked in our shoes. I pray for your family and that in the long run God will bring them peace. Rest in peace my brother.

Just a God Bless this young man and officer for his life and his love of country and his duty and his country to protect and to serve. I pray this officer, this man knew Christ as Savior before he passed away. Only God knows this and the man who passed. I pray for his family and saw the news today and the procession and was moved and touched. I felt the need to share my prayers and thoughts and let you know people do care about police officers even if some officers do hurt people for no reason even if they call it their duty. They have no right to make fun of people when they're on their so called Duty, I'm certain this man maintained professionalism at all times. I hope he did.
