I've had to work most Sundays,
and at times my talk was rough,
and sometimes I've been violent,
Because the streets are awfully tough.

Though at times I shook with fear.

Thank you for your 39 years of law enforcement service to the City of Detroit and the State of Michigan! "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called children of God" Matthew 5:9. Let us now celebrate your life and remember your sacrifice. "Greater love has no one that this, that someone lay down his life for his friends" John 15:13. However, death does not have the final say. And He [Jesus] said to him, "Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in Paradise" Luke 23:43. Now, my Brother in Blue, rest easy; we will take it from here.
