The salvation of the righteous comes from the Lord;
he is their stronghold in time of trouble.
The Lord helps them and delivers them;
he delivers them from the wicked and saves them,
because they take refuge in him.
Psalms 37:39-40

The policeman stood and faced God,
Which must always come to pass.
He hoped his shoes were shining,
just as brightly as his brass.
"Step forward now, policeman.
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To my church have you been true?"
The policeman squared his shoulders and said,
"No lord, I guess I ain't,
because those of us who carry a badge
can't always be a saint."
I've had to work most Sundays,
and at times my talk was rough,
and sometimes I've been violent,
because the streets are awfully tough.
But I never took a penny,
that wasn't mine to keep
though I worked a lot of overtime
when the bills got just too steep.
And I never passed a cry for help,
though at time I shook with fear.
And sometimes, God forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.
I know I don't deserve a place
among the people here.
They never wanted me around
except to calm their fear.
If you've a place for me here, Lord,
It needn't be so grand.
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don't I'll understand.
There was a silence all around the throne
where the saints had often trod.
As the policeman waited quietly,
for the judgment of his god.
"Step forward now, policeman,
you’ve born your burdens well.
Come walk a beat on Heaven's streets,
you’ve done your time in hell"
To the Bolton Family, may God wrap you in his loving arms and give you comfort during your times of sorrow. We see this way to often. But our men in Blue are the most selfless people on the earth. Knowing the dangers they face each shift they leave out on, yet go on to do the job.
My uncle, Chief Deputy Tommy Kent Martin, lost his life in the line of duty.......July 2007. He was my hero as are each and every one of the great officers we lose each day.
God Speed Officer Bolton..........

Avenue of the Fallen
Standing at attention in their class “A“uniforms, badges gleaming and shoes like glass, are your brothers and sisters of Law Enforcement. All of whom have previously paid the ultimate price.
Today, like many others, they welcome you to this wonderful place.
As you march down the Avenue of the Fallen, all eyes focus on you as if to say “it’s OK, you’re with your eternal partners.”
A salute is followed and a tear can be seen on so many faces.
Welcome, you served well.
Now come join us in the ranks, another is coming home.

I no longer have the words to express my sadness, anger, disgust and frustration, when I see a notification of another Officer being killed by cowards.
My heart breaks for your family and the fact that you were cheated out of many years, while our government allows those responsible to continue living their lives. The "worm will turn" soon, Brother and your death will not go down as a statistic. Those who respect our "Rule of Law" are in a corner, but, those forcing us there have underestimated the will and commitment of those of us who took those Oaths with sincerity. We will turn to fight back and they will find that our bite is much worse than underestimated.
