Reflections for Police Officer Sonny Lee Kim
Clearly you were an outstanding Officer, the people living in District 2, Cincinnati and Hamilton County will miss you.
Your Brothers and Sisters in blue will miss you so very much, in a fond way only police officers seem to understand. We will never forget your good nature, your smile and dedication to Law Enforcement. Don't ever worry, I know the Cincinnati PD family will watch over and keep your family safe. as will all other Police Officers in Hamilton County, the State of Ohio and anywhere you happen to be.
Rest In Peace, sir.

On behalf of my family, I extend our sincerest condolences on the grievous loss you suffered when sonny was killed.
To the Kim family, fellow officers, and all who call Sonny beloved, my heart goes out to all of you and may you find comfort in your loved ones and your strength in your faith. When my son was killed, the entire law enforcement community in our area embraced us in a circle of love and support, and I know you will receive the same support. It makes the unbearable less torturous, and I pray for your solace. I hope that your family knows that a nation mourned for you.
This reflection is sent with the utmost respect for the dedicated service Officer Sonny Kim gave to his community and the citizens of Ohio, and for the supreme sacrifice he and his family made on June 19, 2015

Officer Kim,
Thank you for your many years of protecting what is good from what is bad. My heart sends prayers for strength.
I feel that our loved ones in Heaven are sad when they see us sad. They say to be grateful for the love and memories that are both timeless and ask us to pray for those that will never know such love. Love is eternal. It transcends space, time and even our passing from this place until we meet again.

I feel how weak and fruitless must be any word of mine which should attempt to beguile you from the grief of a loss so overwhelming. But I cannot refrain from tendering you the consolation that may be found in the thanks of the Republic they died to save. I pray that our Heavenly Father may assuage the anguish of your bereavement, and leave you only the cherished memory of the loved and lost, and the solemn pride that must be yours to have laid so costly a sacrifice upon the altar of freedom.
Yours, very sincerely and respectfully,

RIP This was the second LODD that I have been personally affected by in my career. My heartfelt thank you and sorrow to The Kim Family. Sonny was a Great man. To his boys, Sonny has prepared you and given you the skills to lead a great life. Live everyday as if it were your last, full of love for your fellow man, it will be tough, but you guys will be Great Men like your father. To Sonny's wife, please know you will ALWAYS have your Blue family if you EVER need anything. My deepest, most sincere thank you for your sacrifice.
Rest in Peace Sonny, we will take it from here.
