Officer Kim though I did not know you. I know your story. It is one of classic American heroism. You were not born here. But this land was your home. You chose a career dedicated to the people of your new home. You served strong for 27 years. You were past retirement but your heart yearned to still do more. You never gave up or gave in. Even in an era of media persecution you kept to your roots and kept up the job. You were and still are, an inspiration. To every immigrant, every citizen. Every cadet and every officer in this nation and abroad. You have done more then your fair share and now must leave us. Your family in blue mourns for this loss just as your family at home does. There will be no riots, no duels of ideology and no public protests of blue lives matter. Just a moment of silence from us few when we hear your name. Followed by stories of glory that you left behind. Your memory lives on each time one more cadet pins his badge. When one more officer steps in for roll. We will remember you Officer Kim. We will be here for your family, because they are our family. As they lost a husband and father. We have lost our brother.

Your officer will always be honored and never forgotten. I'm so very sorry that you, the family survivors, must now walk through the valled of grief. I know the void that will be left in your family because of his not being there.
