I feel how weak and fruitless must be any word of mine which should attempt to beguile you from the grief of a loss so overwhelming. But I cannot refrain from tendering you the consolation that may be found in the thanks of the Republic they died to save. I pray that our Heavenly Father may assuage the anguish of your bereavement, and leave you only the cherished memory of the loved and lost, and the solemn pride that must be yours to have laid so costly a sacrifice upon the altar of freedom.

Yours, very sincerely and respectfully,

Abraham Lincoln

As the mother of a serving officer my condolences to your family. My son has served for 9 years and his children will never know how much he gives.
Just as your father did every day along with all the professional brothers and sisters.
Be proud that he was your father giving to his community whatever was asked of him.
Be kind to each other at this time of pain.

Avenue of the Fallen

Standing at attention in their class “A“uniforms, badges gleaming and shoes like glass, are your brothers and sisters of Law Enforcement. All of whom have previously paid the ultimate price.
Today, like many others, they welcome you to this wonderful place.
As you march down the Avenue of the Fallen, all eyes focus on you as if to say “it’s OK, you’re with your eternal partners.”
A salute is followed and a tear can be seen on so many faces.
Welcome, you served well.
Now come join us in the ranks, another is coming home.

Please inform our brothers in uniform that there are a lot of us out here who care that officers are dying left and right. We care about all these officers and please inform his family that we love them. They need all the support we can give them right now for many these days see officers as the enemy but most of us see you as heroes.

So sorry for the great loss of this man by yet another criminal. He honored his department and the USAF. Though I didn't know him personally, it is still a great loss, as he was a "brother in arms" and an honorable policeman, as was my father, years ago. Prayers are with his family.
