Trooper Thyfault - I attended your celebration of life, last week. I felt bad for your family and then I felt bad for the rest of us, who will never get to meet someone like you. You crammed so much living into just 21 years. Thanks for your most recent service to the people of Colorado, and thank you for your service to our nation as a soldier. May God grant you eternal rest and may His perpetual light shine upon you.

Sgt. K. Moreland

I feel how weak and fruitless must be any word of mine which should attempt to beguile you from the grief of a loss so overwhelming. But I cannot refrain from tendering you the consolation that may be found in the thanks of the Republic they died to save. I pray that our Heavenly Father may assuage the anguish of your bereavement, and leave you only the cherished memory of the loved and lost, and the solemn pride that must be yours to have laid so costly a sacrifice upon the altar of freedom.

Yours, very sincerely and respectfully,

Abraham Lincoln

My sincere condolences to Trooper Thyfault's family and to the family of his partner. I will pray for both families and both troopers. I'm getting sicker by the day with what seems to be a constant story about another fallen officer. We really live in a violent world. God bless all of my brothers and sisters in the police departments throughout the country. I pray that God will protect them as they do their jobs.

Gone before he really got to enjoy the job. Very sad. Like most of us, we knew we wanted to join the military and knew we wanted to be cops. It is a calling. Trooper Thyfault answered his calling, but was denied the right to enjoy the excitement and everything that goes with those first several years on the job. Prayers to his family.
