To the family of Trooper Thyfault, friends, colleagues, and those who have lost a loved one in the line of duty. Romans 13:1 states "Let every person be in subjection to the superior authorities, for there is no authority except by God; the existing authorities stand placed in their relative positions by God." Someone who truly loves God would respect the secular authorities, doing so who also show respect to God. At 2 Timothy 3:1 it mentions we are living in "critical times", many in the world today have absolutely no respect for those that serve as secular authorities. I pray that God's promise for those that have fallen asleep in death brings comfort to all.... Revelation 21:3,4 "he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away."

To Trooper Thyfault family: I am a mother who also lost my only son, Det. Sean Carrington, NYPD, Narcotics in the Line of Duty. I was compelled to reach out to you because, as a parent losing a child is most devastating. My life have been an emotional roller coaster ever since. I do not know your son, but as a parent I know & feel your pain. I implore you to keep God in your life and lean on whatever family and/or friends for support. The days will be long and the nights will be never ending. Remember the good times, remember his smile and never be ashamed to talk about him whenever you want or feel the need.

Taylor, I thought of you as I noticed your fellow classmates graduate 2 days ago. May you watch over these Troopers as they go into a field of dangers, perils, and uncertainty. Far too many of us know that the ultimate sacrifice you have paid could've been any one of us as we too, watch over our own areas of jurisdiction daily. I pray that your memory will serve these Troopers until the day they hang up their uniforms and their shadow boxes can proudly display their accomplishments and stories from their experiences. Just wanted to say thank you again from "ALL" of your brothers and sisters. Watch over us and help guide us in our daily duties as we can only strive to set the bar as high as you have my brother.

On behalf of my family, I extend our sincerest condolences on the grievous loss you suffered when Taylor was killed.

To the Thyfault family, fellow officers, and all who call Taylor beloved, my heart goes out to all of you and may you find comfort in your loved ones and your strength in your faith. When my son was killed, the entire law enforcement community in our area embraced us in a circle of love and support, and I know you will receive the same support. It makes the unbearable less torturous, and I pray for your solace. I hope that your family knows that a nation mourned for you.

This reflection is sent with the utmost respect for the dedicated service Trooper Thyfault gave to his community and the citizens of Colorado, and for the supreme sacrifice he and his family made on May 23, 2015.

Feel His presence as God answers the prayers of many who have fallen to their knees on your behalf. Since the day of my son's death, I have carried every law enforcement officer and their family in my heart.

Every morning I go to my knees. During that time I pray:

“Lord, Be with all law enforcement officers. Keep them safe and free from harm. They are Your soldiers on the front line of the battle against evil. If one should fall this day - wrap their family in your loving arms. Surround them with Your angels, loving family, friends, neighbors and caring people to comfort them. Ease their pain. Help them to mourn well. In Jesus' name and for Your Glory, Amen.”

I have lifted you and your family to God every morning for over four years. Feel those prayers. God is with you; He knows and will ease your pain.

Our faith helps us to see beyond the grave.

This notice is personal for me member of MPD's Recruit Class 2015-2. You taught me that nothing is for granted in this profession and it doesn't matter how long is our T.O.D. But how big are our desires to live this lifestyle hoping that when our time comes we can go knowing that our intentions were always good in heart. Your story is personal for me and I will never forget what happened to you specially now that I am graduating from the academy, Brother in Blue.
