Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Detective Kerrie Sue Orozco

A portion of a letter written by President Abraham Lincoln, printed in the Boston Evening Transcript on November 25, 1864.

“I feel how weak and fruitless must be any word of mine which should attempt to beguile you from the grief of a loss so overwhelming. But I cannot refrain from tendering you the consolation that may be found in the thanks of the Republic (she) died to save.
I pray that our Heavenly Father may assuage the anguish of your bereavement, and leave you only the cherished memory of the loved and lost, and the solemn pride that must be yours to have laid so costly a sacrifice upon the altar of freedom.
Yours, very sincerely and respectfully,
A. Lincoln”

So on 5/20/15 we lost another Police Officer, another sister in blue. A mother that was supposed to go on maternity leave in a matter of days, and her newborn daughter gets to go home today. A sad in fact, that she will never know her mom. She’ll only have pictures and I’m sure great stories of her mom. From what the news articles say, Officer Kerrie Orozco was not only a great Police Officer, but a great person. May we keep her family in our prayers. Also keep her husband and her children in our prayers. When will this stop we ask ourselves, probably never. The men and women of the Thin Blue Line, we have the courage to go out into this world and fight against crime. There’s not a lot of men or women can do the job we do. May all my friends and family stay safe, and keep fighting the fight. ****The Thin Blue Line**** forever.
