My prayers and condoldences to the family at home and on the job. There are no words to express how I feel hearing about this tragic event. May your family always know you were doing the best one can do to protect us all. You are in so many ways a "HERO" because you refused to allow a dangerous criminal to remain free to hurt others. My heart will forever bleed blue.

To Officer Orozco's family, my family offers it's deepest condolences.
Another police officer killed, yet where is the outrage in the press. A young mother is dead leaving behind a tiny baby who will never know her. If it were a police officer who killed a career criminal, running from or being combative to police, there would be rioting and vandalism in the streets for weeks and months on end.
Coming from a police family myself I am sickened by the violence toward police and am afraid for my family and all police officers nationwide who have to go out there on a daily basis to defend people who hate the police.

I am a private citizen and also a secretary for the Iowa State Patrol. I did not know Detective Orozco but I do understand grief due to loss. Her husband and children are in my thoughts and prayers during this tragic time. I realize words can not communicate the depth of loss that Kerri's family is experiencing but with family, friends, and the strength of God above, the pain will slowly lessen and somehow, life will continue.
