Tate, like I told Deen, everyone/division and surrounds agencies came out. We made it happen! I remember when I taught a couple of academy classes for your group. I along with other supervisors and veteran officers were talking about how your class was very disrespectful. That feeling doesn't change, but I must say that you were always respectful and you kept smiling. Always willing to learn. I know that Platoon 1 and Platoon 2 claims you (as you were solo on those shifts). However, you were on my shift when you first got out of the academy. You were apart of the 3rd Heard (311)! In some areas, I was a tough to work for. I like for a performance to be at no less that 100% Things were not perfect, but you tried none the less while still smiling. You were happy to be here! I can ask no more of a man who wanted to be here and was trying.

Being your first lieutenant, I must tell you about a proud moment for me that happened a few weeks ago. I was north on Hwy 49 when I heard you involved in a foot pursuit on Hardy St (near Hobby Lobby & Speedy Oil Change). I turned around and got on I 59 to come help. Before I got there, you had caught and arrested the suspect. Just as I got there, I had to shake your had. I remember seeing you smile when I shook your hand and told you, "good job" and "you've arrived." That moment will last with me for the rest of my life. You arrived, son! You gave it your all. I am happy to know that you got a chance to follow your dream before going to be with God. Brother, rest well... The rest of us will take it from here.
