To the family and friends of Sgt. Greg Moore,
We hear you, we see you, we defend you to the ignorant, and you are loved.
“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

On behalf of the Westerville, Ohio Division of Police, our thoughts and prayers are with the immediate family of Sergeant Greg Moore and the extended law enforcement family, of the Coeur d'Alene, Idaho Police Department. Rest in Peace brother and watch over us.
I fight not for glory or fame, for they are momentary. I fight for those who can't. I fight for Justice. I fight for the oppressed and the down trodden. And if I should lose my life for these just causes, then I have no regrets, For I serve to protect the innocent. It matters not where or when, for evil knows no boundaries. Be it fire, flood, or the threat of tyranny, I will not flee. Justice is my weapon. Faith is my shield. Hope is my armor. Cry not at my passing, for it was my Honor to fight for you. Shed not tears of sorrow, But tears of joy, for now, I stand with God.

I send my prayers and condolences to the family of Sgt. Greg Moore and our fellow law enforcement officers in Idaho. In an unfortunate coincidence, we here at NYPD also lost a very young officer with the same name today. This was PO Brian Moore. I think this is a sign that shows we are all one & we all grieve together when a hero is taken from us too soon. I take comfort in knowing that they are with God in heaven.

God, filled with mercy, dwelling in the heavens' heights,
bring proper rest beneath the wings of your Lord,
amid the ranks of the holy and the pure,
illuminating like the brilliance of the skies the soul of Greg Moore who went to his eternal place of rest.
May You who are the source of mercy shelter him beneath Your wings eternally,
and bind his soul among the living, that he may rest in peace. And let us say: Amen.

A THREAD OF BLUE
by Robert Fouracre
As flowers fade with ribbons frayed And tears of sorrow cease
That haunting sound “Officer Down” will never find its Peace
The list of Grief and Disbelief Are echoes of the past
The time we spent, and what it meant, are memories that will last
We Live and Die, and don’t know why, but what we leave behind
A Thread of Blue, A Job to Do, And Duty Undefined
The Honor Goes To All of Those Who Dared to Take a Stand
And all along, they keep us strong, with God’s Great Helping Hand.
