Reflections for Detective Brian Raymond Moore
Brian, we may have crossed paths somewhere in our work day - I only wish I had the privilege to have known you and to have worked with you. You were what every sergeant wanted on their team. I pray for your family, your father a retired sergeant, who was your biggest supporter and confidante I'm sure. You were what every parent took pride in. May God allow you to rest in peace. May your family live life through you. I will work each day, making a difference, in your honor.

Officer Brian MOORE, all of your daily sacrifices during your too short and so promising career, culminating in your Ultimate sacrifice for us on Saturday May 2, 2015 and your tragic passing 2 days later, is yet another wakeup call for the grateful citizens of this world to give heartfelt thanks and earnest prayers for the Safety of all First Responders, who bravely offer to lay their lives on the Thin Blue Line for us, regardless of our circumstances.
Brian, keep on watching over your Brothers and Sisters in Blue and all First Responders in New York and across America,
God Bless and Give Peace to your Family, Friends and your Final Patrol Partner,
Thank You
another grateful and concerned citizen

For Officer Brian Moore:
From the day we decide to enter law-enforcement we have made a conscious decision to lay everything on the line for the sake of becoming the protectors of the public. This doesn't mean we willingly forfeit our life to any number of vermin that inhabit the streets - it just means that we will accept the risk.
We regret that our brother Brian - way too young and far too early in his career - had to meet with a bullet at the hands of yet one more piece of trash that, like always, is approached with at least some degree of dignity and respect. Unfortunately that sometimes is an invitation for them to take advantage of the situation. Precisely, this is the greater part of the risk a police officer accepts - but always making us more and more cautious one cop-shooting after another... since our lives matter - and others are dependent upon our coming home at the end of our shift. Few, but cops and soldiers, can fathom this reality.
We pray for Brian's family, co-workers, friends and all who care about him. May they be ready to reach-out to one another in the days ahead.
We are exceptionally proud - beyond all degree of appreciation and above all measure of gratitude - to render Office Brian Moore, a noble and brave soldier-of-the-law, a final salute.

As it has been said in these pages, there is no public outcry when an officer is murdered, while law enforcement is increasingly ridiculed, challenged and sued for their actions.
What can change this one-sided double standard?
Stop all law enforcement and citizens will see the living hell they are narrowly sheltered from.
As my sadness and anger wrestle for a space in my chest,
I am sending my prayers for strength and a message that you are not alone in your sadness; a burden shared is lessened.
Young officer, please rest in peace. The honor and service that you have preserved will never stop in this war against uncaring and selfish evil.
With tears and respect.
