Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Detective Brian Raymond Moore

Eternal rest grant unto Brian Moore, O Lord; and let perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace. Amen.

Death is nothing at all.
It does not count.
I have only slipped away into the next room.
Everything remains as it was.
The old life that we lived so fondly together is untouched, unchanged.
Whatever we were to each other, that we are still.
Call me by the old familiar name.
Speak of me in the easy way which you always used.
Put no sorrow in your tone.
Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes that we enjoyed together.
Play, smile, think of me, pray for me.
Let my name be ever the household word that it always was.
Let it be spoken without effort
Life means all that it ever meant. It is the same as it ever was.
There is unbroken continuity.
Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight?
I am but waiting for you, for an interval, somewhere very near, just around the corner.
All is well. Nothing is hurt; nothing is lost.
One brief moment and all will be as it was before.
How we shall laugh at the trouble of parting, when we meet again.

Our thoughts and prayers to your family, friends and the entire law enforcement community.

You can rest easy now, we will take it from here......

For the last couple of months, this nation has faced a lot of turmoil: from riots, protest, senseless killing and now even homegrown terrorist.. The men and woman of the NYPD should be proud of their actions in leading the nation in protecting and serving the innocent people and businesses in their community. We sometime don’t realize how much they (Police Officers) do sacrifice while they are standing watch over us, protecting us and responding to all our cries for help until one is taken away from us. Police Officer Brian Moore has fallen but his family and the rest of NYPD finest will not let actions go undone. Police Officer Moore is still continuing his watch right beside the almighty father, but rest assured he is still watching over his fellow officers and all the law binding citizens of New York City. May his soul rest in peace and his guardian spirit inspired us all .

A portion of a letter written by President Abraham Lincoln, printed in the Boston Evening Transcript on November 25, 1864.

“I feel how weak and fruitless must be any word of mine which should attempt to beguile you from the grief of a loss so overwhelming. But I cannot refrain from tendering you the consolation that may be found in the thanks of the Republic (he) died to save.

I pray that our Heavenly Father may assuage the anguish of your bereavement, and leave you only the cherished memory of the loved and lost, and the solemn pride that must be yours to have laid so costly a sacrifice upon the altar of freedom.

Yours, very sincerely and respectfully,
A. Lincoln”

Thank you for your service to the citizens of New York. So sad that you paid the ultimate price so young but you did so with great valor and are a true Hero for your sacrifice. You are now in the company of some of the finest to ever wear the Badge of a LEO. I will be attending the annual memorial service on May 22, 2015 in Seminloe County Florida as I have done since my Brother-In-Law Gene Gregory was killed in the line of duty July 8, 1998 and will do so until I am no longer able to walk or crawl, I am sure someone will do the same for your memory. You will be remembered for eternity for the sacrifice you made. Rest In Peace.
