Reflections for Police Officer Jared J. Forsyth
My prayers are not only with the family and loved ones of Officer Forsyth, but the individual who shot him. I hope and pray he/she realizes that it was an accident and I also hope that those who may condemn him/her know how well the old phrase, "There but for the Grace of God go I..."
For those who know and love Officer Jared Forsyth, know that he died a hero. Though the incident wasn't in the act of being a hero, in his capacity as a law enforcement officer working to improve and perfect his skills, he died a true hero. No matter what else you do, keep his memory alive in your hearts and minds and you will find that he will never truly leave you. He will watch over you from Heaven, always and forever.
God Bless you Officer Forsyth and may you forever Rest in Peace, Brother.

Jared was always such a kind and respectful young man to me when he would come into the shop to pick up his uniforms. Such a sad day. May God bless Jared and hold him in his arms now and always. Amen.
Prayers to Jared's family. May God give you the strength and healing to get you through this. I am truly sorry for your loss. Jared was a wonderful man.

To Officer Forsyth's Police family and all friends. I remember when he and my oldest son were very good friends when they were in middle and high school. Such a tragedy to befall such a nice young man. Many times I came home from work and he was here either eating dinner or just sitting around talking. I will miss his wit and smile. He will be missed. My sympathy is with all of u.

For Police Officer Jared Forsyth:
No situation whereby a law officer dies is more regrettable than an instance involving the mishandling of firearms by fellow officers. It is a recurring situation and especially lamentable when it happens during the course of official firearms instruction. One occurrence is too many, let alone at least three during this last year nationwide. The solution only appears to be an admission that our present range-staffing might selectively be inadequate. Where else can the responsibility lie but with those whose primary responsibility it is to keep all participants ultimately safe? The last place a tragedy should occur is where gun-safety is taught. No explanation to the victim's loved ones will ever suffice. None.
We regret that our brother Jared would be the next law-officer to die during instruction of firearms training.
We pray for Jared's family, co-workers, friends and all who care about him. May they be ready to reach-out to one another at this time.
We are proud to render Officer Jared Forsyth, a soldier-of-the-law, a final salute.

Jared was a close friend of mine and my wife, we both worked security jobs with him. He was also a groomsman in our wedding 4 years ago. Jared (JJ) will be greatly missed by all that knew him. Hopefully he'll be eating Garbage Plates (a Rochester NY food specialty) and washing it down with a microbrew - while he watches over his brothers & sisters in Blue. RIP Brother / Friend / Officer.
