I graduated from a different academy on the same day as you, brother. For that, and for the noble profession you chose, we are forever linked. RIP brave warrior, you made the ultimate sacrifice to protect the flock, and you will never, EVER be forgotten. We know we'll always have backup, because you'll always be with every officer across the country. We've got the watch from here on out, and we'll meet up in heaven one day. My Prayers go out to Trooper Casper's Family and his State Patrol Family who have suffered this tragic loss. Every law enforcement officer felt like they'd been stabbed in the heart when they heard about Trooper Casper's untimely death. I graduated with the 14th Class of the Wisconsin State Patrol and retired as the Chief of Police in Dodgeville Wisconsin after over 30 years in law enforcement. I hurt every time I read about an Officer being killed in the line of duty. I worked with and was a friend of Donald Peterson back in 1972 and the State Patrol does a fantastic job of training their Troopers as is shown by the length of time since the last Trooper killed. God Bless Trooper Casper's Family and the State Patrol.

Retired Trooper of the 14th Class
Retired chief of Police Dodgeville P.D.
