Reflections for Police Officer Michael Jeremiah Johnson
Officer Johnson, you lost your life to someone who wanted to take his own life, and did. Why he had to take your before simply taking his own, we may never know, but he did and good innocent people are the ones now paying the price.
You died a hero, but you lived one first.
God Bless and may you forever Rest in Peace, Brother.

An Officer’s Heart
By Kathy Farace
I chose to work in law enforcement;
It’s my duty and my call.
I will serve no matter what the risk
In a crisis great or small.
Protecting life and liberties
From jeopardy and from theat.
No matter what the time or cause,
I’ll respond with no regret
The thin blue line of courage is a symbol that reflects,
The depth of strength to conquer,
Fear our commitment and respect.
Duty calls, the race begins, days end is unbeknown.
Though focused on the work at hand
My heart is back at home.
As an officer I know I’m not in this alone.
You stand with me by my side and pray my safety home.
I give you this special gift a heart for us to share;
Holding precious words of love far days so hard to bear.
Every moment of every day, in my heart you’ll always be.
We’ll never be far apart……You have “A Piece of Me”

IN MEMORY OF POLICE OFFICER MICHAEL JOHNSON
To the family, friends, and colleagues of Police Officer Michael Johnson:
From the beginning of time after Cain killed his brother, Abel, there has been a need for law enforcement officers to protect the weak and to bring evildoers to justice. This work is necessary in a sinful world and is dangerous. In modern times, twelve police officers have sacrificed their lives to protect the citizens of San Jose, California. Today, we honor the sacrifice of Police Officer Michael Johnson, of the San Jose, California, Police Department; who was shot and killed in the line-of-duty on Tuesday, March 24, 2015, as he and other police officers responded to a suicide threat at an apartment in the 2600 block of Senter Road in San Jose, California.
Lord God, we are grateful for the life of Police Officer Michael Johnson. He died serving us. Help us never to forget. Help us celebrate the life of Police Officer Michael Johnson and honor his sacrifice. Be with the family, friends, and colleagues of this fallen hero. Comfort them and give them your strength. Guide those who seek to take care of the family of this hero. May those empowered to do so, care for them with integrity. In commemorating the death of this hero, help those who mourn to remember that death is not the end. Death does not have the final say, but is simply the transition to the glorious life to come. They should look forward to that life to come with joy and thanksgiving.
As for the citizens of San Jose, California, help them to faithfully equip their police officers with the best tools to protect their community. May their training be adequate to the task. Help the citizens of San Jose, California, to remember to pay their police officers fairly and treat them with respect. Help the citizens of San Jose, California, to obey the law and treat each other with dignity so as not to add to the burden of crime and pain to their community.
The time for mourning will soon pass. We have now remembered and celebrated the life lost in this great tragedy. As the family, friends, and colleagues of Police Officer Michael Johnson go forward, they must celebrate the good things in their lives; and to celebrate life itself!
Finally, Lord God, we pray for the families, friends, and colleagues of all the law enforcement officers who have been killed in the line-of-duty and we thank you for their sacrifices. Bless the lives of their families, friends, and colleagues so they might find healing. Help their law enforcement organizations support the families of these fallen heroes. Even though their deaths might have been senseless, make something good come out of these situations so that their law enforcement organizations and the communities in which they lived and served might be stronger because of their lives and their deaths.
Now, Police Officer Michael Johnson, may the Lord bless you, and keep you: the Lord make His face to shine upon you, and be gracious unto you: the Lord lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace. Amen.
In His Service,

My heart aches for you as you begin this terrible journey. I know this path all too well, as I am a mother of another bay area officer shot and killed in the line of duty. Such a tragedy to lose your loved one this way. Know that Michael has now been given a new assignment from God - he now helps guard the gates of heaven.
Please know that you are all in my hearts and prayers.
May God bless you all.
