"Blue Spirited Watch"

Even though the many Law Enforcement Officers from all of our Neighboring Countries around this world have Fallen and Ended their Watch.

Their Devoted Spirits have Risen and are now carrying on their destinies up above in Heaven while awaiting to be rejoined in the distant future by the ones they love.

You are missed brother.. Please know that a small army of Troopers are looking after your family and staying close to them. Walking every step with them, we cry with them, we smile with them, we laugh with them and do everything in our power to make sure they know that they are part of this big OHP family. Rest easy brother we have your back here...

In Honor of your Sacrifice and for your family and friends, I salute you as a HERO! May God
Give the family and friends the strength and faith to deal with this tragic loss. Words can not express my sorrow!

"The Badge"

He starts his shift each day
To respond to calls unknown.
He drives a marked patrol car.
A police officer he is known.

He's paid by the citizens' taxes
To make it safe on the streets.
But he usually has a second job
'Cause a waitress has his salary beat.

Now he doesn't know a holiday
'Cause he works all year round.
And when Thanksgiving and Christmas finally arrive
At his home he cannot be found.

He's cursed and assaulted often,
The one whos blood runs blue.
He seldom ever gets a thanks,
To some he's just a fool.

His friends are always other cops
'Cause people just don't understand
That underneath his badge and gun,
He's just another man.

He knows there might not be a tomorrow
In this world of drugs and crime.
And he gets so mad at the court system
'Cause the crooks don't get any time.

And each day when he leaves for work,
He prays to God above.
Please bring me home after my shift
So I can see the ones I love.

But tonight he stops a speeding car,
He's alone down this ole' highway.
It's just a little traffic infraction.
He does it everyday.

Well, he walks up to the driver's window,
And his badge is shining bright.
He asked the guy for a driver's license,
When a shot rang through the night.

Yes, the bullet hit its mark,
Striking the officer in the chest.
But the Department's budget didn't buy
Each officer a bullet-proof vest.

So he lay on the ground bleeding.
His blood wasn't blue - His blood was red.
And briefly he thought of his loved ones
'Cause in a moment the officer was dead.

In the news they told the story
Of how this officer had died.
And some who listened cared less,
But those who loved him cried.

Well, they buried him in uniform
With his badge pinned on his chest.
He even had his revolver,
He died doing his best.

For Trooper Nicholas Dees:

The duty of that road patrol trooper is fraught with dangers. Among them is the mere presence of being out of the patrol vehicle and standing on the highway for any number of reasons during the performance of duty. Errant, careless, and reckless drivers who fail to acknowledge our presence, despite flashing-lights, emergency warning-devices, and our uniformed-presence, remain as deadly a threat as any that we may confront.
We regret that our brother Nicholas would be the next law-officer to die because of that segment of the driving public that is reckless, preoccupied, or simply fails to utilize any measure of caution while operating a motor vehicle which is equally as deadly as any weapons we might face. We trust that vigorous enforcement of all our traffic laws, in this case and in the future, might prevent such a like tragedy from reoccurrence.
We pray for Nicolas' family, co-workers, friends and all that care about him. May they be ready to reach-out to one another in the days ahead.
We are proud to render Trooper Nicolas Dees, a soldier-of-the-law, a final salute.

Cpl. Ralph D. Fiorenza (Ret.)
Pennsylvania State Police

Feel His presence as God answers the prayers of many who have fallen to their knees on your behalf. Since the day of my son's death, I have carried every law enforcement officer and their family in my heart.

Every morning I go to my knees. During that time I pray:

“Lord, Be with all law enforcement officers. Keep them safe and free from harm. They are Your soldiers on the front line of the battle against evil. If one should fall this day - wrap their family in your loving arms. Surround them with Your angels, loving family, friends, neighbors and caring people to comfort them. Ease their pain. Help them to mourn well. In Jesus' name and for Your Glory, Amen.”

I have lifted you and your family to God every morning for over three years. Feel those prayers. God is with you; He knows and will ease your pain.

Our faith helps us to see beyond the grave.
