Reflections for Deputy Sheriff John Robert Street
My sincerest condolences to Deputy Street's family and friends. I pray you find comfort and peace in the beautiful hope of a forthcoming worldwide Paradise, where as Jesus foretold, we will once again embrace our resurrected loved ones to never lose them again. Keep hIs words as found in John 5:28, 29 close to your heart. There he says: "Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life..." For a short while Deputy Street will be resting peacefully as Ecclesiastes 9:5, 10 lets us know and will soon awaken to a beautiful life to be reunited with loved ones. May this wonderful hope keep you strong.

We offer our heartfelt sympathy to the family, friends and colleagues of Officer Street and we honor his distinguished service to the cause of justice and peace. Sadly, our nation has lost one of its finest citizens, a community has lost a friend and protector, and a family has lost an example of character and courage who they will love and respect forever.
To the family of Officer Street, I would like you to know that a lot of people pray for you, and my hope is that their prayers will give you strength and comfort during this difficult time. In the days to follow, may you be strengthened by the fact that Officer Street is a man distinguished by exceptional courage and will always be admired for his brave deeds and noble qualities. You, your family, and your sacrifice will never be forgotten.

I have laid down my life in service to all of you.
I have been a part of the fabric that has held the line between your safety and your victimization. I have given my life so that others may live in peace. I have lived my life as a dedicated member of the greatest profession. There is no greater honor.
As I now become a part of the rich history of law enforcement, please remember me always for I have left behind those who loved and depended upon me.
My partners and my agency, please remember my family, their loss, and don’t let time soften your compassion for them.
You guard the gate now and I will continue my watch from above.
MAY YOU REST IN PEACE AND MAY YOUR FAMILY FIND COMFORT IN THE GOOD YOU HAVE DONE HERE ON EARTH.

For Deputy John Robert Street:
The law-officer on patrol faces the same risks any motorist faces and more. Responding to emergencies and urgent calls tends to become routine. We must continually strive to become that driver who is a step advanced of the norm and recognize we are not exempt from high risk. We regret that our brother John would be the next law-officer statistic in the cavalcade-of-carnage on our nation's highways - where tens of thousands of deaths are recorded annually and many more injured.
We pray for John's family, co-workers, friends, and all who care about him. May they be ready to reach-out to one another in the days ahead.
We are proud to render Deputy John Street, a soldier-of-the-law, a final salute.
Cpl. Ralph D. Fiorenza (Ret.)
Pennsylvania State Police
