Rest in peace brother. Of all the times turning over Car 24 to you at the EOS in the deck, makes me cherish all of those comments of problem houses and people of N. Hill we both dealt with. You will be missed, but never forgotten. APD will take it from here and I promise to do my job to help build officers of your integity, courage and honor. You are a True Hero.

On behalf of my family, I extend our sincerest condolences on the grievous loss you suffered when Justin died.
To the Winebrinner family, fellow officers, and all who call Justin beloved, my heart goes out to all of you and may you find comfort in your loved ones and your strength in your faith. When my son was killed, the entire law enforcement community in our area embraced us in a circle of love and support, and I know you will receive the same support. It makes the unbearable less torturous, and I pray for your solace.
This reflection is sent with the utmost respect for the dedicated service Officer Winebrinner gave to his community and the citizens of Ohio , and for the supreme sacrifice he and his family made on November 16, 2014.

A community, a police department and worse yet, a family is deprived of a good man because some meaningless pile of filth wants to show the world what a tough guy he is. Well, we can only hope he has to prove it over and over and over again in prison and for the rest of his life, natural or otherwise.
Officer Winebrenner, you were off duty. You could have just sat back and waited for the cavalry to arrive, but you didn't. You saw a threat to innocent people and acted in hopes of saving lives. You may very well have saved many lives but sadly you lost your own. So long as your family keeps you in their hearts and minds, you will never truly be gone from them.
God Bless and may you forever Rest in Peace, Brother.
