Time is something that we often take for granted. I saw you at the other end of the SO lastnight as you came on to shift. I took for granted that would be the last time I would see you Darrell. You never came to see me without a smile on your face and a determination to make me smile no matter if it was beginning of shift or 2am. God Speed brother. Your brothers and sisters will take it from here. Rest easy now my brother. Gone But Never Forgotten MCSD #143

Phantom faces at the window, phantom shadows on the floor
Empty chairs at empty tables where my friends will meet no more
When I have to die then, I want to melt away from your kiss.
And then when I'm dead, Bury me close to your Heart.

God Bless the men and women of the Maury County Sheriff's office and especially the family of Deputy Perritt. We are all part of the same family and the pain felt when a brother or sister leaves us behind to patrol heaven is so hard to bare. Deputy Perritt has earned the right to rest now and watch over us-we'll take the watch from here. God bless

A police officer should be remembered not by how he died, but how he lived! A great man has gone to secure a safe path for the rest of us to follow. Thank you to you, your family and the Maury County Sheriff's Office. Our country is a little less safe without you. Rest in Peace Brother!

I went to the academy with Darrell. Darrell was a great guy who was always uplifting everyone else. Darrell always had a smile on his face and would make others enjoy the moment. Darrell is a reason a lot of people didn't quit the academy and he helped keep us together. Reast Easy Darrell #143 we will take if from here brother!

I arrest a lot of DUI suspects here in the Chicago area and know how dangerous they can be. Very unpredictable when alcohol clouds their judgement. Sheriff Perritt, you will not be forgotten. The work you did and the life you lead was an inspiration for us all.
