I feel how weak and fruitless must be any word of mine which should attempt to beguile you from the grief of a loss so overwhelming. But I cannot refrain from tendering you the consolation that may be found in the thanks of the Republic they died to save. I pray that our Heavenly Father may assuage the anguish of your bereavement, and leave you only the cherished memory of the loved and lost, and the solemn pride that must be yours to have laid so costly a sacrifice upon the altar of freedom.
Yours, very sincerely and respectfully,
Abraham Lincoln

The Lord gave you a job to serve others here on earth. You just didn't serve the community you served The Lord's work that He called upon you! Sometimes we don't know why things happen but, know that you Savior has called you home! My deepest condolence goes out to the precious family. I pray that Our Precious Lord will bring them comfort and peace during this time.
Rest In Peace Deputy Jesse Valdez III

I am sorry for your loss. It is amazing and depressing just how much people with multiple, similar charges cost our communities. The perpetrator in this case had just gotten out of jail only 3 weeks earlier for committing the same crime---but this time it cost Harris County the life of one of their Deputies. R.I.P. Deputy Jesse Valdez, III., and Godspeed.

This is such a terrible loss for family, friends, and the community of Harris County. To lose a fellow officer is the most heart breaking, sad and terrible thing to happen. I am the wife of a retired Deputy of Knox County, Tennessee and have attended one too many funerals for officers killed in the line of duty. Trey, I worked with your older brother, Tony, and have the utmost respect for him. It saddens me deeply to know how he and your family are suffering. Your career choice is a proud profession with untold sacrifices for both you and your family. Rest in peace knowing that many will pray for and look after your family.

I have laid down my life in service to all of you.
I have been a part of the fabric that has held the line between your safety and your victimization. I have given my life so that others may live in peace. I have lived my life as a dedicated member of the greatest profession. There is no greater honor.
As I now become a part of the rich history of law enforcement, please remember me always for I have left behind those who loved and depended upon me.
My partners and my agency, please remember my family, their loss, and don’t let time soften your compassion for them.
You guard the gate now and I will continue my watch from above.
MAY YOU REST IN PEACE AND MAY YOUR FAMILY FIND COMFORT IN THE GOOD YOU HAVE DONE HERE ON EARTH.
