For Investigator Michael David Davis, Sr.:
The law-officer is always in peril of serious injury or death and the very nature of our job is one of constant danger, especially when confronting the individual who has already killed and is on the run. It takes an exceptional law-officer, and there are many, to confront such a person while using restraint. Our brother Michael was put to the supreme test and demonstrated his invincible and proud dedication to keeping with the highest standards when attempting to take into custody a cold-blooded killer. We regret that Michael would be yet the next law-officer to fall at the hands of a ruthless low-life and heartless killer. Each of us who carry a badge should firmly implant this horrific and cowardly action of resistance to law-enforcement deep in our minds.
We pray for Michaels family, co-workers, friends, and all who care about him. May they be ready to reach-out to one another in the days ahead. On this 26th anniversary of Michael's own father's passing while in law-enforcement, may we proudly render both these soldiers-of-the-law, a final salute.

My sadness competes with my anger.
If an officer should slap someone in the face,
it fills the news papers and that officer may lose their job.
When an officer is murdered in cold blood; there is no public outcry; no mass public demonstrations and no so called self-appointed "rights advocate" appearing on TV with a civil rights lawyer by their side. What about Investigator Davis' rights?
Something has to change.
My prayers for strength at this most difficult time.
Burdens are lessened when shared and you are not alone
at this time.
Dear Almighty God, may Your Swift Hand Of Justice Prevail.
With respect and prayer.
Dear God.

Everyone loses when an Officer is killed. Family loses a father, husband, and brother. An agency loses a piece of family and a friend. A community loses an Officer, a friend to the Community, and Za Officer who protected them. My loving prayers to all.

Avenue of the Fallen
Standing at attention in their class “A“uniforms, badges gleaming and shoes like glass, are your brothers and sisters of Law Enforcement. All of whom have previously paid the ultimate price.
Today, like many others, they welcome you to this wonderful place.
As you march down the Avenue of the Fallen, all eyes focus on you as if to say “it’s OK, you’re with your eternal partners.”
A salute is followed and a tear can be seen on so many faces.
Welcome, you served well.
Now come join us in the ranks, another is coming home.

From the Police Academy Class 90 - Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family in their time of grief. When we graduate in 2 weeks I will mention the sacrifices you and others have given to make our communities safer and to bring the realization that the training that we learned and now take away into the field was built on the foundations of your experience and others that have gone before us. WE PROMISE, it WILL NOT go unnoticed. God Bless You.
