I pray that everyone can find peace in knowing that we will see this officer as well as many others again in Paradise soon. Until then, please accept my condolences.

Deputy Sheriff Oliver, thank you for your service and your sacrifice. We held our First Annual Southern Maine Thin Blue Line 5k yesterday, and you were definitely in my thoughts, as I became aware of your tragedy and the day that it happened after meeting your daughter Melissa last June at a retreat. I thought of you and your family as I ran the course, please know that your sacrifice will never be forgotten.

I responded to this incident soon after the call went out over the radio. We had worked with Danny's team that morning. This was the worst days of my law enforcment career, and I will never forget it. God Bless all members of the Sacramento Sheriffs Department. God Bless the POP team.
