Reflections for Deputy Sheriff Joseph John Matuskovic
Joe,
I sit here my friend with a heavy heart as my heart felt thoughts and prayers go out to your family and friends. I will miss our talks on the wall in booking and in the transport office when you came to pick up an inmate for court. Your tour of duty has ended and we have been left with a hole in our hearts but we will continue to patrol the streets you so dearly loved. RIP my friend for you have earned it.

There was a nice lull in LE deaths the first half of August. Now, unfortunately, it has picked up significantly. My condolences to this officer's family, friends, and department. EMT Larry Britton is equally a hero for responding to the call and doing his job. I hope they are both honored together by their jurisdiction.
