Reflections for Police Officer Scott Thomas Patrick

A senseless tragedy that this honorable officer and his family did not deserve to endure. Thank you for your watch, Brother. My heart goes out to Officer Patrick's family.

For Officer Scott Patrick:

The duties of the law-officer are usually routine, and sometimes even mundane, until the worst occurs. The possibility of attack is present in every meet with the public and no situation is ever to be considered secure or safe, especially when alone. We regret that our brother Scott would be the next law-officer to lose his life in the process of keeping the public safe.
We are thankful for the quick apprehension of the perpetrator by fellow law-officers. May justice now be served.
We pray for Scott's family, friends, co-workers and all who care about him. May they be ready to reach-out to one another in the days ahead.
We are proud to render Officer Scott Patrick, a soldier-of-the-law, a final salute.

Cpl. Ralph D. Fiorenza (Ret.)
Pennsylvania State Police

Avenue of the Fallen

Standing at attention in their class “A“uniforms, badges gleaming and shoes like glass, are your brothers and sisters of Law Enforcement. All of whom have previously paid the ultimate price.
Today, like many others, they welcome you to this wonderful place.
As you march down the Avenue of the Fallen, all eyes focus on you as if to say “it’s OK, you’re with your eternal partners.”
A salute is followed and a tear can be seen on so many faces.
Welcome, you served well.
Now come join us in the ranks, another is coming home.

It bothers me deeply and tears come to my eyes seeing fellow officers die in the line of duty. As a member of that fine blue line now retired there has to be a way to protect them. Most police departments are short of officers. I covered a fellow officer many years ago that was injured and said to me had we had more manpower the outcome would be different. I was so glad to have gotten to him and prevented further serious injuries. God Bless you Officer Scott and your family may you RIP, God please watch over his wife and daughters.
