Reflections for Detective Melvin Vincent Santiago

this truly breaks my heart. a young life cut so short over such senselessness. we'll never know the potential that went unfulfilled in such a promising life, but we can at least honor him as a hero who chose the brave path of protecting the citizens of the city he called home. he truly made a mark in such a brief time with us. please continue to watch over us Det. Santiago.
God bless your family and the jersey city police department.
rest peacefully.

Another brave soldier in the never ending war on criminals in our country has been brutally murdered by a cowardly thug. I hope and pray that the people supporting the killer will come to the realization that police are NOT the enemy, and that perhaps the street role models and thugs who taught them about life are terribly wrong in their twisted views on our society. Officer SANTIAGO, may the memory of your service, heroism and sacrifice remain forever. You are a true HERO that has made the ultimate sacrifice in service to your community. May God bless you, your family and fellow officers in the Jersey City Police Department.

Rest in peace young brother, we have the watch now. Thank you for your service albeit cut short by your murderer. Thank goodness his reign of terror was stopped that morning as well. God bless the family, friends, and co-workers of Officer Santiago during this time of tragic and senseless loss. Prayers for God's protection for the officers in Jersey City, as well as officers not only in New Jersey but all across our great nation as there have been threats of violence against police officers by the gang members of the CRIPS gang of which Officer Santiago's murderer was affiliated. Please be careful out there, wear your vest, and be ever vigilant until this threat is knocked back.
