Reflections for Special Agent Byron Jasper Gordon
Agent Gordon,
On today, the 90th anniversary of your death I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice-north just as a Law Enforcement Officer but for our Country as well when you served with the U.S. Army. And to your Family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.

My grandmother became a widow with the murder of Special Agent Mr. Gordon. She had a very hard life and the death of the "only man she ever loved" made it all the harder. Although she remarried she carried the name "Gordon" all her life. She loved him very much and said he was a wonderful man. I wish I could have known him!

Your murderer escaped the hangman, but he didn't escape death. None of us want to hurt or kill anyone, but I feel there is justice that it was your shot that ultimately avenged your murder.
Railroad Police agencies seem to be slowly becoming a thing of the past, which is a travesty, but for all of those who still serve to protect one of the main things that made America what it is today, and for all who preceded them, we, as a nation, owe our thanks. You, Special Agent Gordon were and still are a hero.
God Bless and I pray you are resting comfortably in peace, Brother.

We can only truly honor our heroes of the present by never forgetting our heroes of the past. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 83rd anniversary year of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered
