Hey Scott,

Its been a while. I can't believe its been almost four years. I remember all the boots sitting up front. I was giving you some static about being an up tight boot. You laughed it off and we continued the training. We had a good conversation about tactics after the class and we parted ways. A couple of months later your t/c happened down the road from my house. I drive by the location when going to the south side and on my way to church every week. So, I think about you a lot. I talked to one of your class mates a while back. You come up whenever I see him. The Department always has fresh faces, but I always feel like your looking over them. Its a busy city and they need an angel looking over the guardians, I'm comforted to know the Lord choose you to be that angel. You left too soon, but I know well meet again. One last thing buddy, a couple of our brother guardians are new up there. They are great guys, if you could show the new boots the ropes, I'd appreciate it. I'll talk to you later brother.

To the family and friends of Officer Scott Hewell.

I am sory to hear of your loss, it sounds like Scott was a hell of a man and officer. As a police officer myself, I know that Scott loved his job and his beat partners. Its true what they say, "I would do this job even if they didnt pay me". God bless you all as you remember the great times you spent in Scott's presance.

THEIR SACRIFICE IS TREMENDOUS, AND IF THEY COULD, THEY WOULD TELL US

"I have laid down my life in service to all of you.
I have been a part of the fabric that has held the line between your safety and your victimization. I have given my life so that others may live in peace. I have lived my life as a dedicated member of the greatest profession. There is no greater honor.

As I now become a part of the rich history of law enforcement, please remember me always for I have left behind those who loved and depended upon me.
My partners and my agency, please remember my family, their loss, and don’t let time soften your compassion for them.

You guard the gate now and I will continue my watch from above."

MAY YOU REST IN PEACE AND MAY YOUR FAMILY FIND COMFORT IN THE GOOD YOU HAVE DONE HERE ON EARTH. THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE TO US ALL.

Hewell you were a great partner and a blast to work with in the academy. I fondly remember many of the shenanigans we got into and the tough times we dealt with.

You were a hell of a cop and a credit to the profession, your agency, and 12BR-1. I'm sorry I didn't get more opportunities to visit you.

Rest easy, brother, we have it from here.
