Officer Soldo, it goes without saying that your death, which was so senseless, has LEOs across the country grieving LVMPD's loss and knowing that such circumstances could have or could befall them. After hearing of your death on national news, I took time to recall the years I was a patrolman and the hundreds of times citizens approached me during meal breaks to ask a question or state a complaint. It caused me shivers because never once did I think they were CCW & about to use it on me.
Though your death greatly saddens me and many thousands of police officers past and present along with millions of citizens around the country, it will not be in vain. LEOs everywhere will now receive additional training pertaining to the circumstances you faced; be on a more heightened state of personal security and the Feds have now created a special dept & task force to take seriously and combat domestic terrorists.
Now that you have your place in heaven, please be watchful & helpful to all those working the streets to assist the Lord in keeping them from harms way.
Young man, you have served and served well the badge with which you were entrusted and the people you protected. Though you must stand aside to let others take over in your place, you will not be forsaken nor forgotten my brother of the badge.
May you and Officer Beck rest in peace and your families know you both are worthy of the title "HERO"

The salvation of the righteous comes from the Lord;
he is their stronghold in time of trouble.
The Lord helps them and delivers them;
he delivers them from the wicked and saves them,
because they take refuge in him.

"The Final Inspection"
The policeman stood and faced his God,
Which must always come to pass.
He hoped his shoes were shining.
Just as brightly as his brass.
"Step forward now, policeman.
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To My church have you been true?"
The policeman squared his shoulders and said, "No, Lord, I guess I ain't,
Because those of us who carry badges can't always be a saint.
I've had to work most Sundays,
and at times my talk was rough,
and sometimes I've been violent,
Because the streets are awfully tough.
But I never took a penny,
That wasn't mine to keep....
Though I worked a lot of overtime
When the bills got just too steep.
And I never passed a cry for help,
Though at times I shook with fear.
And sometimes, God forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.
I know I don't deserve a place
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around
Except to calm their fear.
If you've a place for me here,
Lord, It needn't be so grand.
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don't.....I'll understand.
There was silence all around the throne
Where the saints had often trod.
As the policeman waited quietly,
For the judgment of his God.
"Step forward now, policeman,
You've borne your burdens well.
Come walk a beat on Heaven's streets,
You've done your time in hell."

Police Officer Igor Soldo,
When you made your decision to enter law enforcement some eight years ago you became blessed:
For the Lord said, "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God." Matthew 5:9 ESV
When you were enjoying a well deserved lunch break at a pizza restaurant in the 300 block of North Nellis Boulevard while on duty with your partner, Police Officer Alyn Beck, on Sunday, June 8, 2014 in your patrol jurisdiction of Las Vegas, Nevada, you answered God's call to serve:
And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, "Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then I said, "Here am I! Send me." Isaiah 6:8 ESV
As a result, you and your partner were approached by a male subject and female subject who immediately shot and killed you both execution-style; sacrificing your lives so that others might live and be protected:
And the Lord said, "Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends." John 15:13 ESV
I, along with your family, friends and comrades, will mourn your sacrifice and loss in the line of duty:
And the Lord said, "Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted." Matthew 5:4 ESV
Now go! Rise up! And do battle against Satan and his demons as an angel for the Lord!

I feel how weak and fruitless must be any word of mine which should attempt to beguile you from the grief of a loss so overwhelming. But I cannot refrain from tendering you the consolation that may be found in the thanks of the Republic they died to save. I pray that our Heavenly Father may assuage the anguish of your bereavement, and leave you only the cherished memory of the loved and lost, and the solemn pride that must be yours to have laid so costly a sacrifice upon the altar of freedom.
Yours, very sincerely and respectfully,

On behalf of this first shift, we are deeply saddened of the loss to your department and community. We often confine inmates with similar ideolgies of hate against the Government and all know to well the danger of violent extremism. The cowardly act of these homegrown terrorists reminds us to be extremely vigilant. Long live the memory of these two Officers.
