Reflections for Sergeant Patrick Scott Johnson

Deepest sympathies to the men and women of the Alaska State Troopers. As a fan of the show, Alaska State Troopers, they truly are a unique police force. To the families and friends of these two brave men, may you find peace and comfort in the coming days. Sgt. Johnson, it breaks my heart to have seen you on the show and to hear the news. Your brothers and sisters will cover it from here. May you rest in peace brother.

My husband was stationed at Elmendorf AFB in the early 90s. We had our first child there. We got out in the wilderness every chance we could and loved every minute of it. Alaska seemed so treacherous and full of secrets. You never knew what was going to be around the bend. I am struck by such sadness that these men that tackled the unknown every day, uncovering secrets and boldly doing their job no matter where it took them, have been killed........I haven't lived there in years, but I have so much respect for what the law enforcement goes through to protect this great state. I send condolences to their families, both at home and in the field. May God hold these fine men in the palm of his hand.

My heart goes out to the families of these two troopers. It seems that there are way too many of these types of incidents now. These two officers are heroes indeed. May God bless them both.

Thank you Troop Sgt! You laid down your life, doing what I will always consider as real police work, keeping people safe while hunting down and apprehending very real, very dangerous people!

You weren't sitting inside the station doing clerical or admin work, you weren't out writing tickets like the townies do, you gave your life protecting others, which is what you are sworn to do!

God bless you Troop Sgt Johnson, for your sacrifice and may God bless your family in their time of need!

After watching Alaska State Troopers on TV, it amazed me just how dangerous these Troopers have it up there. They are a Jack of all trades, not just troopers, and after watching them have to fly into these remote villages, it really opened my eyes!!!! I'm so sorry for your loses, my heart goes at the the families and Alaska State Police!!!!

My condolences to the Families of Troopers Rich & Johnson.
We cannot continue to lose our first line of defense against these criminals. Our "First Responders' see the worst that humanity can throw at us. Law Enforcement Officers are confronted daily by individuals with more & more sophisticated weapons but continue to forge ahead and get the job done. Firemen and women are running into burning structures while everyone else is running out. The EMS workers are targets in gang neighborhoods while administering first aid to victims on the streets. The Court Systems and Parole Boards throughout the country must improve their long term memories when it comes to these violent criminals, especially when their crimes are against First Responders. Parole should only be granted if we are positive that the Parolees release date is his/her last day on this earth. Death by Natural Causes works for me.

I have been a state trooper for 36 years and everytime I hear of one of my brother troopers giving the supreme sacrifice for his state and country, my heart goes out to their families. My prayers are with their families and co-workers. It's only by the grace of God that I am here still working today and I give thanks everyday for my many blessings.
