A police officer should be remembered not by how he died, but how he lived! A great man has gone to secure a safe path for the rest of us to follow. Thank you to you, your family and the Alaska State Troopers. Our country is a little less safe without you. Rest in Peace Brother.

Rest easy brave men. The world is a sadder place today because of the loss of Troopers Rich and Johnson. I have watched them through the eyes of the show Alaskan State Troopers and marvel at their bravery as they do their jobs under difficult and dangerous conditions. My thoughts and prayers go out to you, your family and your brothers and sisters in blue. The only way for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing. Your sacrifice will not be in vain, good men, for you have fought evil. Blessed be.

As a member of my Agencies Honor Guard Squad I have had the opportunity to participate in the ceremonies honoring our fallen brothers on many occasions. What has not at all lost it's sting is the obvious devistation these incidents cause to the families and loved ones of these fallen warriors. To the wives and children especially I offer a verse that has helped me in times of loss: "we also rejoice in our suffering, for suffering produces perseverance, perseverance produces character, character produces hope, and hope does not dissapoint us". Romans 5:3-5

My condolences to the family of these two officers and their brothers and sisters in law enforcement. My Gog bless their soles and their families. I have been watching "Alaska State Troopers" on TV and some of their actions scare the crap out of me. They are more interested in getting their damn hat on just perfect and then they have to tilt their head back to see out from under the edge of the hat. Who teach these officers about officer safety???

It is so sad to hear that this happened, i am a fan of the show and it saddens me to hear this, they give the ultimate sacrifice for the state of Alaska and really put themselves in danger everyday, god bless Sergeant Scott Johnson and Trooper Gabriel Rich and their families as well as the men and women still serving as Alaskan State Troopers. You are true HERO's and will be deeply missed. God Bless you and thank you for all you did.

I had the privilege of representing Sgt. Johnson over the last few years in an employment-related matter, and meeting and breaking bread with him once in Anchorage. He was a fine officer and courageous man. I am deeply saddened by his loss, as well as Trooper Rich's. I pray that God grants solace to their families and friends at this time of loss, and holds them in His hands.
