To the Alaska Troopers, so sorry to read of our country's loss. God bless the family and friends of these men.
Surviving members, harness this loss and use it as fuel. Fuel to stay alive and make it home. Lock it down and teach the new troopers to enhance the officer safety issues.
It can happen to any one of us at any time, mere seconds and it's over.
So sorry,
Senior Trooper Scott A. Howard

I keep wondering when someone is going to call and say this is all a big misunderstanding and you are home. Lenny, you and I started out rough.. but ended with such a good friendship. I looked forward to EVERYDAY that I knew you were working. You brought such a lightheartedness to everything that you did. You made people want to be around you. I found an email that you sent me once today. I could see you smiling when you wrote it. It made me smile and cry all at the same time. I feel so far away right now. I didn't know my heart could hurt so much.

We live in Maine, have visited Alaska twice with plans to return. We have never missed the National Geographic show Alaska State Troopers. We are not law enforcement officers . We do however hold your officers in high esteem and deeply regret the loss of two of your fine officers. From the show we felt we got to know them a little. We wanted all of you to know their service and the loss had an impact across the country. Our deepest sympathies to all their families, fellow officers, and co-workers.
