The loss felt by the Plymouth Police Department, coupled with the loss felt by the Boston Fire Department has given those of us in Public Safety a very heavy heart this week.

Officer Maloney, being a 'bike cop' is something I have never had the courage to do and I've always admired those who do, not just on my department, but on all departments. You have a very cool aura about you. When something like this happens it leaves me, and most of us in a state of shock. Your means of transportation is well known to be dangerous at times, but you guys always simply seem invincible. It's so very tragic that you really aren't.

You leave a vacancy that can be filled, but a void that never can however, so long as those who know and love you keep you in their hearts and minds, you'll never truly be gone.

God Bless and forever Rest in Peace, Brother.

Avenue of the Fallen

Standing at attention in their class “A“uniforms, badges gleaming and shoes like glass, are your brothers and sisters of Law Enforcement. All of whom have previously paid the ultimate price.
Today, like many others, they welcome you to this wonderful place.
As you march down the Avenue of the Fallen, all eyes focus on you as if to say “it’s OK, you’re with your eternal partners.”
A salute is followed and a tear can be seen on so many faces.
Welcome, you served well.
Now come join us in the ranks, another is coming home.

I feel how weak and fruitless must be any word of mine which should attempt to beguile you from the grief of a loss so overwhelming. But I cannot refrain from tendering you the consolation that may be found in the thanks of the Republic they died to save. I pray that our Heavenly Father may assuage the anguish of your bereavement, and leave you only the cherished memory of the loved and lost, and the solemn pride that must be yours to have laid so costly a sacrifice upon the altar of freedom.

Yours, very sincerely and respectfully,

Abraham Lincoln
