Reflections for Master-at-Arms Mark Aaron Mayo

The bugle echoes shrill and sweet,
but not of war it sings to-day.
The road is rhythmic with the feet
of men-at-arms who come to pray.
The roses blossom white and red
on a tomb where a brave sailor lies.

Farewell shipmate! Fair winds and following seas!

"Greater love hath no man than this, that he lay down his life for his friends." John 15:13

People(mostly civilians)think that we MP's don't see any action because of the security of a base. This right here proves that to be an incorrect statement. Just like civilian police, we MP's are hated by everyone too(until they need us, lol). Battlebuddy, it's a darned shame that you we're taken from us at such a young age, so early into your career, by a dirtbag who's constitutional rights you enlisted to protect in the first place. I'm glad that the other MP's killed the *******. Time for you to patrol Heavens streets now, mate. You've honorably served your time in hell.

There are no words that can explain why things happen the way they do. The Lord needed to add to his flock and Ma Mayo was a chosen one because of who he was and what he stood for in life. I never thought to say Thank You to my dad who was in the Navy during WWII. So I say Thank for your service to keep the word Freedom an American way of life. This is not only to honor you but I do this in my fathers name. May God Bless

Rest in peace MAA Mayo. Even in Norfolk the people and shipmates need protecting and you did just that. All of my prayers are with you, your family and fellow shipmates right now.
