Reflections for Master-at-Arms Mark Aaron Mayo
Fair winds and following seas Shipmate, you stand relieved.

Service to our country was a choice, one made and made again each day by MA2 Mayo. His loyalty coupled with the natural instinct to protect paints the picture of a real American hero. We will probably never know how many other lives he saved in that moment, but the loss of this one good man is too much already.
I am thankful for his sacrifice and for the sacrifices made by his loved ones, who supported his decision to serve. Please accept my condolences during this difficult time.

It really bothers me that Our Heroes serve, and then, they run into harms way via people whom they are (supposed) to trust. Many prayers to family and friends of Our Fallen Hero. May he rest in peace. To those he has left behind ,at such a young age , may the LORD Bless each of you. Thank you MA2 Mark for your service and the sacrifice your family has endured and forever will.........

Military personnel, whether active or inactive, share a
common bond. We must always be on alert to enemies
whether foreign or domestic, something we swear to
when enlisting. A fine young man performing his duty who happened to be right where God wanted him to be.
We are in debt to him and his parents who apparently
raised a son of excellent character and bravery. God
bless.

God bless people like MA2 Mark Mayo who is in keeping with all the finer traditions of duty and honor! With all the bad press regarding the military, too many times we forget that while we go on with our lives after our service is done that there are still those actively serving today who continue to watch over us whom are truly heroic and do not get the same coverage they deserve.
