Reflections for Officer Jason Marc Crisp

Jason,
You sacrificed everything to make this world a safer place. I can't think of a more noble thing to do in this lifetime. We are all indebted to you for your sacrifice, your honor, your bravery, and your courage. My heart goes out to your family. I know that they too have sacrificed so much so that you could perform your duties. Words can never express the sadness of this situation. I know all too well the perils that you and your K9 Maros have faced every day of your career. I am so thankful that there are people like you who are willing to take the risk to protect others and make this world a better place. I am proud to be a part of the same agency that you worked for. You will forever be one of my heroes. I am eternally grateful to you for everything that you and your family have done for your agency and for your country. I will never forget you. I will think of you and Maros and your family every day that I put on my uniform. Thank you for your service. God bless your family. Rest in Peace.

These men and women who wear the badge of a Law Enforcement Officer for the USDA Forest Service give their time and lives to keep our Federal lands safe for all to use. My prayers go out to the family of Officer Crisp and his unit; it is hard to lose a brother and father. He will not be forgotten.

Thank you for your service Officer Crisp. Many civilians do not realize that the members of the Forstry Service are in as much danger as other law enforcement members. They think of them only as "Park Rangers". My prayers go out to your family and fellow service members.

To Jason's family, I haven't the words to express my sympathies for the loss of such a brave officer, husband, and father. Therefore, I rely on the words of another great man.
"I pray that our Heavenly Father may assuage the anguish of your bereavement, and leave you only the cherished memory of the loved and lost, and the solemn pride that must be yours to have laid so costly a sacrifice upon the altar of freedom."

-Abraham Lincoln, 1864

May the Crisp family be comforted and feel the prayers being lifted to Heaven for them. This isn't what you signed up for and your pain must feel unbearable. Take comfort in the memories of Jason, remembering the good times and know you are prayed for!

Jason was one of the finest officers, dedicated to his family, the public he served, and the resource he protected. He was my Academy classmate and I have fond memories of our months together. I am a better man because Jason blessed my life. He will be missed here as he prepares his mansion above for his family he loves so much.
