Officers of the Pa. Game Commission were involved in a similar tragic loss of a good man two years ago. We know the emptiness Jason's fellow officers are feeling after this tragedy. We share the heart break, tears and sorrow the family, coworkers and friends are experiencing.
Our sympathies, prayers and thoughts shall be with you now and in the difficult days ahead.

The salvation of the righteous comes from the Lord;
he is their stronghold in time of trouble.
The Lord helps them and delivers them;
he delivers them from the wicked and saves them,
because they take refuge in him.

Jason was an incredible young man. I was so disappointed when I didn't get to work with him as part of my New Leader detail. He knew I had raised a lot of pups for the guide dog program and he was willing to have this old lady shadow him so I could learn about canine officer training. We were both disappointed when I wasn't allowed to do it.
Recently the German Shepherd I was raising was released from the guide dog program and I got in touch with Jason to see if he would be interested in getting him to train as Maros' replacement. When I described Trooper to him, he immediately replied, "I WANT HIM!" I gave his information to the breeder who owned him, but I don't know if he was ever contacted.
Jason was such a sincerely nice fellow. HE WILL BE MISSED BY ALL! I will be praying for his family.
