Errata :
The apprehension of Maurice Ahearn's murderer apparently occurred 1903 and not 1905 as previously indicated.
In 1905 Anthony Lipsio was awarded the sum of $1,000 for the apprehension and later conviction of of Francesco Raffo in the above homicide.
While recently reviewing newspaper articles published in 2003, I am unable to find mention of Anthony's participation in the actual arrest of Raffo. Anthony did receive the $1,000 reward which was verified in one newspaper publication titled "25 Years Ago in New Rochelle " and via family oral history.
My appologies to one and all for the previous incorrect date

Addenda:
Maurice Ahearn was a special officer who patroled Rochelle Park in New Rochelle NY. He was a friend of my grandfather, Special Officer Anthony Lipsio, who in 1905 apprehended Maurice's murderer.

In 1905 the murderer of Maurice Ahearn was captured and arrested by my grandfather, Anthony Lipsio,
a special officer with the New Rochelle Police Department.
In my possession are his official photo, firearm, and nightstick along with a reprint of the 1905 newspaper article.
