Avenue of the Fallen
Standing at attention in their class “A“uniforms, badges gleaming and shoes like glass, are your brothers and sisters of Law Enforcement. All of whom have previously paid the ultimate price.
Today, like many others, they welcome you to this wonderful place.
As you march down the Avenue of the Fallen, all eyes focus on you as if to say “it’s OK, you’re with your eternal partners.”
A salute is followed and a tear can be seen on so many faces.
Welcome, you served well.
Now come join us in the ranks, another is coming home.

It is very sad to see another Officer leave us.
Although he may be from a different Police Department, we are all a nation-wide family that fights together.
I wish his family my sincere condolences during these hard times.

Yesterday was a very difficult day for the Los Angeles Police Department. We lost a truly outstanding officer in Nick Lee. Spending the day working Hollywood Division to support my brother and sister officers who knew him so well and were so devastated by his loss, i saw what Nick meant to everyone who works Hollywood Division.
Nick will never be forgotten. My thoughts and prayers go out to his wife, children, family and fellow officers. My prayers for a speedy recovery go out to his partner and my support to her family.
My thanks to the Beverly Hills Police Department, Beverly Hills Fire Department, Los Angeles Fire Department and California Highway Patrol for the way you took care of Nick and his partner and brought Nick back.
Nick, my brother, you served long and well and made us proud. Watch over us from heaven with God as we carry on your work.
