Reflections for Detective John Thomas Hobbs
Detective John Hobbs,
When you made your decision to enter law enforcement you became blessed:
For the Lord said, "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God." Matthew 5:9 ESV
When you participated in the infamous manhunt for a wanted felon on Monday, March 3, 2014, you answered God's call to serve:
And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, "Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then I said, "Here am I! Send me." Isaiah 6:8 ESV
As a result, you sacrificed your life so that others might live and be protected:
"Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends." John 15:13 ESV
I, along with your family, friends and comrades, will mourn your sacrifice and loss in the line of duty:
"Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted." Matthew 5:4 ESV
Now go! Rise up! And do battle against evil as an angel for the Lord!
In God's merciful love,
Pastor Steven R. Closs
Retired Captain of Police, Nashua Police Department, Nashua, NH

God's speed Brother. We know you now stand among the rank of an elite corps of God's true Angels... the Warriors, Michael, Jacob, Joshua... a long list filled with our brothers and sisters who preceeded you, all in preparation for the inevitable fight yet to come.
We pray for your family and friends, your colleagues and co-workers, but most of all for your Wife and Children, that they may find some comfort and solace in the coming weeks, months and years, knowing that the next time they see you they will be with you again for eternity.
