My heartfelt prayers go out to the families of the two officers who were killed this morning. As both a LEO wife, mother and sister of a retired CHP officer from a nearby duty station, their deaths bring the loss so much closer. Prayers are also being offered up to the CHP officers, support staff and others who worked behind the scenes to reopen the freeway.
Thank you all for your service and sacrifice.

My heart and prayers goes out to the California Highway Patrol family. I know first hand, like many of us do, what it's like to have a sense of hopelessness when we arrive on a horriffic incident where a law enforcement officer has lost his or her life. In this case, two were taken away instantly. They wasn't only partners, they met in the academy and became best friends. Thank you Officer Gonzales and Officer Law for your service, and your sacrifice in maneuvering your car to save a strangers life. There isn't a higher display of honor, duty and integrity than this. You both gave your lives so someone else could go home to their family.

On behalf of the Westerville, Ohio Division of Police, our thoughts and prayers are with the immediate family of Officer Brian Law and the extended law enforcement family of the California Highway Patrol. Rest in Peace Brother and watch over us.
I fight not for glory or fame, for they are momentary. I fight for those who can't. I fight for Justice. I fight for the oppressed and the down trodden. And if I should lose my life for these just causes, then I have no regrets, For I serve to protect the innocent. It matters not where or when, for evil knows no boundaries. Be it fire, flood, or the threat of tyranny, I will not flee. Justice is my weapon. Faith is my shield. Hope is my armor. Cry not at my passing, for it was my Honor to fight for you. Shed not tears of sorrow, But tears of joy, for now, I stand with God.

A police officer should be remembered not by how he died, but how he lived! A great man has gone to secure a safe path for the rest of us to follow. Thank you to you, your family and the California Highway Patrol. Our country is a little less safe without you. Rest in Peace Brother.

Officer ____Brian Law_______, sir, it is with honor that I tribute you with my sincere sympathy of your loss to your family, agency, and many friends, as well as Fellow Brothers and Sisters in blue. I know you have finished your watch, but brother, I also know that one day when God extends to me: Well Done My Good and Faithful Servant, we'll unite again in the satin pillars of the Sky. Respectfully, Michael Rayford Powell.
We Salute Our Fallen Brother
For I’m already being poured out like a drink offering,
And the time has come for my departure; I have fought
The good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.
Now there is in store for me a crown of righteousness…2 Timothy 4:6-8.
The world and its desires pass away, but the man who does the will
Of God lives forever…1 John 2:17
Today we stand to salute our brothers’ departure from here
He’ll leave behind a family and those who hold him dear
In a career he served where all give some, yet he gave his all
He leaves this earth behind as he received his final call
The risks he faced on this final tour was one of a unique kind
His bravery surpassed his courage at last he leaves a world behind
Everyday he’ll be remembered for all the special things he did
He patrolled the streets as Gods chosen servant to him goodbye we bid
Don’t worry our brother in blue you’ll always be a part of our mind
We’ll always recall the bright face you bore one that’s so very kind
The hours you spent making a difference protecting all mankind
You stood your watch and kept the faith of one so hard to find
We Salute Our Fallen Brother for the impeccable job he done
You walked tall on duty with integrity second to no one
The beat you worked was like a battlefield in a society filled with change
Yet you never wavered in your commitment to a job that somehow was strange
The flag of our nation will not fly at half mast across the entire USA
But trust us dear brother with taped badges we honor you this way
A symbol of a fallen brother that graced our presence everyday
We’ll always salute the job you performed before you went away!
