This profession we have undertaken is not just a job, it is a calling. We do not do it for riches or glory...we do it because it is the right - and righteous - thing to do. Sadly, that calling sometimes comes at a horrible price. Brother Pine, you served Orange County with honor and valor to your last breath. We owe you a debt of gratitude, and will continue to fight the good fight in your honor.

My deepest condolences to the family, squad, agency, and all brothers and sisters in green (and blue) who are mourning this tragic loss over something as petty as a property crime. The world lost a good man today, but Heaven has gained a guardian angel...may you know peace in His arms.

TO MY BROTHER:

I ALWAYS LOOKED UP TO YOU BUBBA (CRYING) , YOU WERE A GREAT MAN OF GOD FIRST AND FOREMOST, YOU ALWAYS STOOD FOR WHAT WAS RIGHT EVEN WHEN WE WERE YOUNG UNTIL THE DAY YOU WERE CALLED HOME BY THE LORD, IT WAS A HONOR HAVING YOU AS MY BROTHER. YOU ALWAYS WERE THERE FOR ME WHEN NOBODY ELSE WAS. YOU GOT ONTO ME WHEN I NEEDED IT AND ENCOURAGED ME WHEN I NEEDED IT ALSO. I KNOW IF ANYONE IS WITH THE LORD ITS YOU. NOW ITS MY TURN TO CARRY ON YOUR SPIRIT DOWN HERE. YOU DID IT BY PROTECTING US FROM CRIMINALS AND ILL TRY TO CHANGE CRIMINALS TO SERVE THE LORD. YOU ALWAYS HAVE BEEN MY HERO. I WAS JUST TO PROUD TO TELL YOU. I'LL SEE YOU WHEN I GET THERE BUBBA. I LOVE YOU.
YOUR BROTHER,

Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.
Matthew 5:9

I wear the Orange County uniform with pride because of the brave heroes that wear the same. Brave heroes that carry out their duties without hesitation. Brave heroes that pay the ultimate sacrifice in the performance of these duties. Sadly Deputy Pine has become the latest hero. But proudly we will proceed in the performance of our duties taking comfort in knowing Deputy Pine is our newest guardian angel.

To Deputy Pine's wife, children, family, and friends I wish you peace to bring comfort, courage to face the days ahead and loving memories to forever hold in your hearts.

Rest in peace brother, your a hero that's earned that and more.

Scott:

I have asked myself this question for 34 years now, and I can't get find the answer; when, Lord, when will the world understand and recognize the sacrifice we make, to protect those who cannot protect themselves, and not CUDDLE these animals that murder us? When Lord, when will there be no more sobs of a widow, or the cries of a child looking for his Dad?
Oh Lord, in this I pray: please let this be the last brother officer to lose his life, doing your work, as quoted in Matthew 5:9.."Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the children of God".

Rest in peace, Scott. Our thin blue line is a bit thinner, but the line WILL hold. God bless you and you family. Look down on us from time to time.
Amen.
