The salvation of the righteous comes from the Lord;
he is their stronghold in time of trouble.
The Lord helps them and delivers them;
he delivers them from the wicked and saves them,
because they take refuge in him.

Thank you officer Pine for your service. It hurts my heart when I hear a officer life is taken because you sacrifice so much already. God blessing on your family, may he grant them the understanding they need to get through this time. To your kids I pray that they will cherish the man you were and grow to understand life sometimes is not fair but, God has a plan for us all. Rest in eternal peace.

As an officer who made a similar career change, I hope and pray that Ofc. Pine's wife and children can find some small peace in knowing that we both made the career change because God called us to it. Do not second-guess that decision because it was surely the right one in God's eyes despite the unbearable pain and sadness. Although we can never know God's plan for us, take comfort in knowing that He is still in control. In this horrible time, I will pray for your family that you may eventually find strength and peace that you all deserve!! Rest in peace, Brother, for you have truly earned your place in Heaven!

Anyone that supports law enforcement is in pain at the loss of Deputy Pine. I am 3000 miles away; did not know Deputy Pine but please know that I type this with tears welling in my eyes as we share this hardest thing. When I think of his friends, family and department, those tears then make their journey downward and the tightness in my throat and chest reflect my empathy.
I hope that the greatest strength you have saved, is here for you know and that you gain some comfort,
knowing that your tears are not the only ones being shed and that there are many, many people that care
so very, very much and are hurting, knowing that you now travel this most difficult road.
When our loved ones look down
and see us sad; it saddens them.
They want us to be happy and grateful for the good years
we shared down here and they say;
“Smile for the blessing of the times we had together
and send those tears to the unfortunate ones
that have never; and will never, know the love
and respect we both shared and still share.”
Dearest Almighty God;
In The Strength You Now Send To us;
we carry on; as Jonathan wants us to do
and we do the right things;
to honor his name, his life and his memory.
Love is timeless.
It transcends all things.
Time, space and even our passing.
With greatest respect.
You are truly not alone.

On behalf of the Westerville, Ohio Division of Police, our thoughts and prayers are with the immediate family of Deputy Sheriff Jonathan Pine and the extended law enforcement family of the Orange County, Florida Sheriff's Office. Rest in Peace brother and watch over us.
I fight not for glory or fame, for they are momentary. I fight for those who can't. I fight for Justice. I fight for the oppressed and the down trodden. And if I should lose my life for these just causes, then I have no regrets, For I serve to protect the innocent. It matters not where or when, for evil knows no boundaries. Be it fire, flood, or the threat of tyranny, I will not flee. Justice is my weapon. Faith is my shield. Hope is my armor. Cry not at my passing, for it was my Honor to fight for you. Shed not tears of sorrow, But tears of joy, for now, I stand with God.

It brings tears to my eyes when we loose our children to a death in WAR, but when we loose a child on American soil, it just drops me to my knees. This young man's life was taken so young, and doing what he loved so we could sleep at night. RIP Officer Pine, your efforts will never be forgotten and your legacy will live on forever. May God wrap his arms around your family, grant them peace and comfort them in the days and months ahead.

I had the honor to know Scott while attending Louisiana Tech University and call him a friend. Scott is one of the most respectable, top-notch men I have ever known. Scott loved to help anyone he could and asked for nothing in return. I pray that God will watch over his wife and kids during this tough time and provide them the strength to move forward.
Scott, you’re an outstanding man and I am honored I had the pleasure of knowing you. I wish I were half the man you are and we should all live by your examples. Rest peacefully in heaven and we will never forget you.

Those who knew Scott, as he liked to be called, know what an amazing person he was. I've had the privilege of calling Scott a friend for nearly four years now and will miss him dearly. Although he and I never talked about why we got into law enforcement, I knew Scott well enough to say he did it for the same reason I did... we wanted to make a difference. Scott stood up for what's right and did his job because he knew someone had to do it, and the community he served couldn't have found a better man to serve and protect them than Jonathan "Scott" Pine. You are missed very much brother.
