Officer Deckard,
I know you will rest well in the arms of God.
To Your Family,
Feel His presence as God answers the prayers of many who have fallen to their knees on your behalf. Since the day of my son's death, I have carried every law enforcement officer and their family in my heart.
Every morning I go to my knees. During that time I pray, “Lord, Be with all law enforcement officers. Keep them safe and free from harm. They are Your soldiers on the front line of the battle against evil. If one should fall this day - wrap their family in your loving arms. Surround them with Your angels, loving family, friends, neighbors and caring people to comfort them. Ease their pain. Help them to mourn well. In Jesus' name and for Your Glory, Amen.”
I have lifted you and your family to God every morning for over two years. Feel those prayers. God is with you, He knows and will ease your pain.

"The Final Inspection"
The policeman stood and faced his God,
Which must always come to pass.
He hoped his shoes were shining.
Just as brightly as his brass.
"Step forward now, policeman.
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To My church have you been true?"
The policeman squared his shoulders and said, "No, Lord, I guess I ain't,
Because those of us who carry badges can't always be a saint.
I've had to work most Sundays,
and at times my talk was rough,
and sometimes I've been violent,
Because the streets are awfully tough.
But I never took a penny,
That wasn't mine to keep....
Though I worked a lot of overtime
When the bills got just too steep.
And I never passed a cry for help,
Though at times I shook with fear.
And sometimes, God forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.
I know I don't deserve a place
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around
Except to calm their fear.
If you've a place for me here,
Lord, It needn't be so grand.
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don't.....I'll understand.
There was silence all around the throne
Where the saints had often trod.
As the policeman waited quietly,
For the judgment of his God.
"Step forward now, policeman,
You've borne your burdens well.
Come walk a beat on Heaven's streets,
You've done your time in hell."

Bobby, I did not work with you, but I believe you showed up to assist me on a pursuit one time almost 2 years ago. I had been checking up on been your status everyday during those two weeks you were in the hospital with alot of sadness in my heart. The day you were taken from us was the day that I graduated the State Trooper academy and got engaged. Two events that are some of the most proud moments in my life but I could not help but have a deep sorrow for such the tremendous loss that the LE community and the world in general experienced by losing you. To Bobby's family, I am so very sorry for your loss and have don't know the words to say. I truly believe Bobby was the Officer that we all want to be and I also believe he exemplified what it meant to protect and serve. Rest in peace brother, we will take it from here.

Thank you Officer Deckard for fighting the good fight. After reading about the vehicle pursuit and your history I know you feel exactly how i do about your job and duty to our community. I have been in many vehicle pursuits and i know you were determined to catch these worthless souls and let the system take care of them. They got off one lucky shot. You did all you could and did it with true honor. May we all honor Officer Deckard by vowing to better our lives and those who we come in contact with.

Bobby,
I miss you more than simple words could ever explain. Running with you on a daily basis, fighting crime, listening to your corny jokes and laughing at the dumbest stuff is what made you one of my best friends. I will always remember our crazy fishing and hunting trips and all the drama that our women brought us! I know you are watching over all of us from heaven. Rest now my brother, I will try and carry on your legacy from down here and will think of you always. You were the epitome of what an Officer should be and gave the ultimate sacrifice for us all. I love you my brother.
