Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning’s hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush.
Of quiet birds in circled flight,
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry.
I am not there. I did not die.
Mary Elizabeth Frye

Yesterday I had the honor of running the police week 5k in his honor. Although at the time I did not know his name or his story, I felt it was only right to learn about the man whose name was placed above my runner number. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and department as they celebrate his life this police week.

On behalf of my family, I extend our sincerest condolences on the grievous loss you suffered when Robert was killed.
To Robert's family, my heart goes out to all of you and may you find comfort in your loved ones and your strength in your faith. When my son was killed, the entire law enforcement community in our area embraced us in a circle of love and support, and I know you will receive the same support. It makes the unbearable less torturous, and I pray for your solace.
This reflection is sent with the utmost respect for the dedicated service Sgt. Baron gave to his community and the citizens of New Mexico, and for the supreme sacrifice he and his family made on December 6, 2013.

Sergeant Baron,
I know you will rest well in the arms of God.
To Your Family,
Feel His presence as God answers the prayers of many who have fallen to their knees on your behalf. Since the day of my son's death, I have carried every law enforcement officer and their family in my heart.
Every morning I go to my knees. During that time I pray, “Lord, Be with all law enforcement officers. Keep them safe and free from harm. They are Your soldiers on the front line of the battle against evil. If one should fall this day - wrap their family in your loving arms. Surround them with Your angels, loving family, friends, neighbors and caring people to comfort them. Ease their pain. Help them to mourn well. In Jesus' name and for Your Glory, Amen.”
I have lifted you and your family to God every morning for over two years. Feel those prayers. God is with you, He knows and will ease your pain.

Sgt. Baron, Thank-you for your Service. Thank-you for the assistance you provided when I had the pleasure of working with you, it was always great to be around your enthusiasm and professionalism.
Our talks about saddles and comfort were great. I'm glad it helped on the those long days riding north from FLETC. Krysia knew what was best for you. I wish we would have ridden together like we talked about, but I didn't make it happen.
May God Bless You, Krysia, and Coulter. I know you are watching over and protecting them as is God.
Don't worry Krysia is strong and the Family in Blue will be there for them.
Rest In Peace Brother.

I have laid down my life in service to all of you.
I have been a part of the fabric that has held the line between your safety and your victimization. I have given my life so that others may live in peace. I have lived my life as a dedicated member of the greatest profession. There is no greater honor.
As I now become a part of the rich history of law enforcement, please remember me always for I have left behind those who loved and depended upon me.
My partners and my agency, please remember my family, their loss, and don’t let time soften your compassion for them.
You guard the gate now and I will continue my watch from above.
MAY YOU REST IN PEACE AND MAY YOUR FAMILY FIND COMFORT IN THE GOOD YOU HAVE DONE HERE ON EARTH.
