Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Patrolman Clarence A. Jones

Clarence was my father's brother. He had been with this police dept only about 2 weeks after serving elsewhere 10 years. He was driving a 3 wheel motorcycle with side car. The family thought it highly unlikely he would not have control of it and since it was during prohibition and rum runners were known to be in the area they believed he was run off the road deliberately. Note death certificate says "probable" accident leaving room for doubt.

Patrolman Jones,
On today, the 90th anniversary of your death I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice-not just for your Community but for our Country as well when you served with the USMC during WW I. And to your Family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.

Clarence was my uncle. My dad, his brother, always said they thought he was deliberately run off the road by rum runners during prohibition. We will never know but Clarence served wellboth in WW 1 and as an officer.

To fully appreciate the heroes of the present, we must recognize our heroes of the past. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 83rd anniversary year of your death. I am privileged to be among the first to leave a tribute to you. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service.

My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace.
