Semper Fi Brother in Blue. I know the area well and was reading your story today and wanted to honor you with a response. Riding a motor is the highest honor a officer can have. I know you loved your position as all Motor officers do. I feel better knowing you are watching over all your brothers and sisters in Blue from above. God bless you and your family.

I still think of you all the time my friend and try to stay in touch with your family.
Sometimes I pass by "It's a Grind" and can still see us sitting there sipping coffee's, laughing and BS'ing about work, our families and life.
I still ride, but it hasn't been the same without you to share those long roads with. There will always be an ache in my heart for the brotherhood and camaraderie we shared on all those motorcycle trips. I always thought we would be riding together till we were both old and retired. You would be happy to know the department started a motorcycle safety program in your name called "Ride to Live" that has really taken off.
It isn't easy to find true friends in this world, people who will stick by you through thick and thin. You were one such man and I am a better man for having met you.
RIP my brother...you will never be forgotten

I pray that everyone can find peace in knowing that we will see this officer as well as many others again in Paradise soon. Until then, please accept my condolences.

I just came here because I was going to call SGT. Luna and ask about his jail cleaning program. I can't believe the story I read its damn tragic. I remembered going to his program he had where we can clean the cells and around the police station, etc. He was always courteous and treated everyone fair regardless of your crimes. I didn't know him personally cause I was just a helper doing my cleaning days but once I read about what happened I just wanted to say he was a great officer and good man. Thanks

Just learned of the passing of Leonard Luna,
We met him in Moab, UT, in July 2010. Of course, he was on his motocycle. He and Keith K. camped next to us and we had a great evening with them telling stories of the many rides they had been on. When I got back to Pennsylvania, I got my motorcycle license. He and Keith inspired me!! The last time I saw them was the day before the Space Shuttle was moved through the streets of LA.
I was wondering why he had not responded to my emails and text messages over the past few months.
I am in SHOCK!!! I was hoping to see him this July when I come out there. So sad to hear that he is gone. What a great guy!!!

Sergeant Luna,
Thank you for your service. You will be welcomed by all others who also chose to "Protect and Serve" who went before you. Rest well in the arms of God.
To Your Family,
Feel His presence as God answers the prayers of many who have fallen to their knees on your behalf. Since the day of my son's death, I have carried every law enforcement officer and their family in my heart.
Every morning I go to my knees. During that time I pray,
“Lord, Be with all law enforcement officers. Keep them safe and free from harm. They are Your soldiers on the front line of the battle against evil. If one should fall this day - wrap their family in your loving arms. Surround them with Your angels, loving family, friends, neighbors and caring people to comfort them. Ease their pain. Help them to mourn well. In Jesus' name and for Your Glory, Amen.”
I have lifted you and your family to God every morning for over two years. Feel those prayers. God is with you, He knows and will ease your pain.
