Anyone who ambushes a police officer is nothing but a coward. These potential cowards robbed a city of a police officer, a department of a colleague and friend, and a family of a husband, father, son, and so forth. This is a void that can never be truly filled. May your killers leave a void that no one will ever care about.
Everyone connected to Sergeant Johnson is in my prayers. God Bless and may you forever Rest in Peace, Brother.

We live in a violent world, and if it were not for officers like Derek Johnson, we would be completely at their mercy. I hope his son grows up knowing his father's life was not lived in vain. Thank you to officer Johnson for standing in the Thin Blue Line.

May you unvelcro your vest, undo your belt, silence your radio, and lay back in peace. You are now 10-42 Sergeant. Way too early then you should be, but you have done your job, and you are a hero. God bless your family and may you rest in pure peace.
